Ms. LaKeisha Barron-Brown

Barron-Brown is a resident of Charleston, WV. She graduated from Marshall in 1998 with a BA in Criminal Justice/Corrections and she received a MA in Correctional Counseling in 2002. Barron-Brown is a Program Manager for INROADS College Links, which is a career and college readiness program for underrepresented scholars. She has 25 years of experience in programming, fundraising and interpersonal skills.  Barron-Brown has served on executive committees for several non-profit organizations, as well as serves as the founder of a non-profit and for-profit business. LaKeisha currently serves as the Vice President for Charleston-Institute Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Mr. Derek Anderson

Anderson, a 2000 graduate from Charleston, West Virginia, who serves as the Assistant Director, City of Columbus Department of Public Utilities. Anderson has an extensive background in leadership. Anderson is highlighted in Who’s Who in Columbus and was honored as a 40 under 40 awardee from Rejuvenate Magazine. Anderson is the former Treasurer and Vice President of the Marshall University Alumni Association.

Mr. Timothy Wilburn, Jr.

Wilburn graduated from Marshall University in 2007 with a Masters in Adult Technical Education. Upon graduation, Wilburn transitioned from leadership in college to obtaining leadership in MUBA. Wilburn’s leadership skills allowed for him to serve as the treasurer for several years. Wilburn was also very instrumental in planning homecoming activities for the returning alumni. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Dr. Candace Layne

Layne graduated from Marshall with her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2004 and her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2006. She went later went on to receive her Doctorate of Education Degree (EdD) from Argosy University in 2013.  Layne serves as the Director of Marshall University’s Counseling Center. Layne is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
